Kindness Matters Award

Established in 2020, the UFV Kindness Matters Award is conferred on a UFV student or alumni for demonstrating exceptional commitment in one of the following areas:
  • Advocacy Champion – Positively championing a Canadian or global cause through COVID-19. For example, making a positive difference in honouring the Black Lives Matter movement, Indigenous reconciliation, LGTBQIA2S+ awareness, improving the integration and settlement of new immigrants (mentorship).
  • Land Stewardship – Positively impacting the environment through COVID-19. For example, protection or management of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices.
  • Kindness Ambassador – Helping others adjust to the next normal of COVID-19, through promotion of wellness (emotional, mental, spiritual or physical wellbeing, including health initiatives)

Amount: two awards of $500 each


All award nominees must be current students or alumni of UFV. Nominees must agree to be recognized and able to pass a background check. Nominees must have achieved the nomination in a manner that did not put themselves at personal risk.
