August 28 – 9:45 AM

‘Otterly at Home’ is welcome series of events directed towards new residents to Lá:lem te Baker.

As a part of the upcoming Kickoff event, alumni will be coming back to share their experiences from their time living at Lá:lem te Baker. As we explore their reflections on the time they spent living on campus, we will gain insight on ways new residents can have a wonderful experience in their new home.

My name is Maggi Davis (she/her/hers), the Coordinator for the Alumni Engagement team.

UFV became my home away from home in the fall of 2007 as a student and permanent workplace in 2017. After two degrees (BA English ’17, AA’ 12) and many adventures working and volunteering around campus, she developed a passion for life-long learning that shines through whatever she is doing. She now works on a team that creates opportunities for her fellow alumni to continue to learn, share their expertise, and get access to perks and discounts. This work keeps her busy, constantly seeking new connections.

Maggi is a mother of two humans and two fur babies. She is an avid reader, amateur musician, sporadic writer, artist, and adventurous cook. Occasionally her partner talks her into trying sports, with her preferences being snowboarding, canoeing, hiking and golf.

As I explore a future in genetic counselling or medicine, I’m dedicated to reconnecting with my scientific roots and integrating mental health into my practice. Through my experiences, I strive to make a lasting impact, helping others navigate their journeys with empathy and understanding.
