UFV Alumni Wine searching for artist for 2026 label
Fraser Valley, B.C. – The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) Alumni Wine program is celebrating its ongoing tradition of showcasing alumni artists while supporting UFV students. Partnering with Chaberton Estate Winery in Langley, the UFV Alumni Association features a red and white wine annually, with proceeds helping fund bursaries for UFV students. Both varieties will showcase artwork from the selected alumni artist.
Last year’s wines feature artist Rebekah Brackett. Rebekah graduated from UFV in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and she is known for her evocative pieces spanning traditional and digital media. Her two pieces, Owl and Morning Bull, highlight Rebekah’s personal journey through grief and family connection. Morning Bull features a powerful image of a bison emerging in the early light. It’s a nod to her Piikani heritage, family name, and an expression of her journey to reconnect with her Indigenous identity after being adopted during the Millennial Scoop. Owl is a heartfelt tribute to her sister, who lost her battle to cancer in 2021.
Each year, the Alumni Association invites UFV alumni artists to submit two pieces of original art for the upcoming Alumni Wine label artist contest. The selected artist will have their work displayed on the label of each bottle of wine and receive a $500 honorarium.
The deadline to submit is April 10, 2026.
The program has long been a cherished tradition within the UFV community, with Alumni Wine serving as a popular gift for graduates, a meaningful keepsake, and a feature at UFV functions and community events. The current year’s edition featuring Rebekah Brackett’s art is still available for purchase.

Artwork selection at INTERPRET — UFV’s creative and performing arts festival
For the first time in the program’s history, this year’s wine label art will be selected at Interpret — UFV’s creative and performing arts festival on Friday, April 24. All submissions will be showcased during the event, and guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite design. The winning artwork will be featured on the 2026 UFV Alumni Wine labels and celebrated within the UFV alumni community.
How to Apply
Along with their artwork, artists must submit:
- A brief description (50-70 words) for each label
- A biography (70-90 words) for the back of the wine label, including their UFV graduation year and program
