Wine Label Contest submission

Join a legacy of artists

We invite UFV alumni to submit two original designs for our Alumni Wine bottle labels—one for white wine and one for red.

This is your chance to help create a limited-edition wine collection that celebrates artistry and our shared connections. Plus, the successful artist will receive a $500 honorarium.

Open to alumni of the University of the Fraser Valley, University College of the Fraser Valley, or Fraser Valley College.

How to enter

  • Submit two (2) original pieces of artwork to be featured on the front labels of the wine bottles:
    • One label for white wine.
    • One label for red wine.
  • Do not include any text or label information in your submissions.
  • Submit a description and biography:
    • One brief description (50-70 words) for the white wine label.
    • One brief description (50-70 words) for the red wine label.
    • One brief biography (70-90 words) for the back wine label. Please include your year and program of graduation.
  • Meet the criteria in the “Artwork Requirements” below. Submissions that do will be eligible for selection for an additional two years.

Winner selection

The UFV Alumni Association will review all submissions and select a winner.

Artwork requirements

  • Original artwork only: This includes digital reproductions of paintings, photos, sculptures, and other digital art. Note that your artwork will be shown in a portrait layout on a wine label.
  • Each label must be unique: Artists must submit two different pieces of artwork—one for white wine and one for red wine.
  • Generative AI artwork is not accepted: While you may use generative AI for inspiration, the final artwork must be your own original work.
  • Artwork ownership: The artist must own the artwork at the time of the contest. It cannot be a previously sold piece. The UFV Alumni Association must have exclusive use of it during the 2025 Alumni Wine season.
  • No text in images: The wine labels are designed and created by UFV’s designers; therefore, submissions should not contain any text or label information.
  • Cropping of digital images: The artist agrees to allow us to cropping digital images of the selected artwork, if necessary, to fit the wine label design.
  • Biography edits: UFV reserves the right to edit the biography for final production.
