2015’s Commemorative Wine unveiled
Celebrating over a decade of UFV alumni tradition
ABBOTSFORD – 2015 marks the eleventh year of the UFV Alumni Association commemorative wine launch, a unique tradition within the alumni community. Each year two limited edition wines are produced to celebrate the graduating class with labels designed by UFV alumni artists. The 2015 launch was held April 9, 2015 where Justin P. Goodrich, chair of the Alumni Association, unveiled this year’s wines and the winner of the artist competition.
The winning artist is alumnus Catherine Adamson (UFV BA’03). Catherine graduated with a BA in English and Visual Arts and is currently a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her award-winning “free-flow” paintings are inspired by nature and can be found in galleries and coffee shops around the west coast.
The 2015 commemorative wine was produced by the Chaberton Estate Winery. There is a 2013 Reserve Bacchus and a 2013 Valley Gamay available for order. These limited edition wines make excellent graduation gifts, memorabilia, or prizes and proceeds go towards supporting the UFV Alumni Association.
2013 Reserve Bacchus
$20.00
Produced from estate-grown grapes, our Bacchus has aromas of citrus, chamomile, and apricots. This off-dry wine has flavours of peach, orange blossom, and soft lemon notes with a long, smooth finish.
2013 Valley Gamay
$20.00
Aromas of cherries and cloves draw your nose to the glass of this lighter bodied red. A blend of Gamay Noir from both the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, this BC red offers flavours of currants, strawberry jam, vanilla and sweet spices. Enjoy with barbequed salmon, creamy cheeses and tapas.
