FRASER VALLEY – Our UFV alumni are doing incredible work at home and around the world.

Established in 2003, the UFV Distinguished Alumni Award has been able to recognize the accomplishments of our amazing alumni. The traditional Distinguished Alumni Award will be conferred upon a graduate of the institution who has achieved outstanding distinction in career, educational achievement, or community service.

In 2012 the Young Distinguished Alumni Award was established, going to a graduate of UFV who is 35 years of age or younger and who has achieved outstanding distinction in the above categories.

Both awards recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of exceptional alumni, emphasizing the hard work of our alumni across all ages.

“We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our alumni in the wide ranging industries and sectors they have found themselves in,” says Whitney Fordham, UFV Alumni Relations Manager, “Being able to recognize their success and share their stories with the entire community reminds us that graduating from UFV is often only the first step towards unlocking exceptional opportunities and potential.”

Winners of these awards will join the ranks of past recipients including: 2019 recipients Sonya Sangster (BBA ’06) and Jesse Wegenast (BA ’12). Watch Sonya and Jesse’s videos to learn about how these extraordinary UFV alumni are changing lives.

Other past winners include: Liz Harris (BA ’01) and Andrew Alexander (BSc ’14) in 2018, Emily Henry (Cert ’05) and Alexis Warmerdam (UT ’09) in 2017, Gary Bass (MA Crim ’08) and Shannon Thiesen (BEd ’12) in 2016, Dr. Mike Hildebrand (BSc ’01) and Alex Reimer (Cert ’04) in 2015, and many more!

The deadline for application is May 1, 2020                               

If you know of an alumnus or alumna worthy of this distinction we encourage you to nominate them. Recipients will be honoured and celebrated at the Town and Gown event in the fall.
