Financial Planning
Develop a comprehensive budget, considering costs for the venue, catering, entertainment, decorations, and any special activities. Explore funding opportunities, including sponsorship from UFV, ticket sales, and alumni donations.
Once you have made all the decisions regarding the program, menu, special touches etc., you can develop the budget and decide on a ticket price for your reunion. There are two options when developing your ticket price:
- set a desired ticket price and work back from there to determine what options will fit that ticket price
- determine the costs for everything you would like to accomplish and set the ticket price to ensure all costs are covered.
If you’re planning a more casual meetup at a bar or restaurant, where each attendee is responsible for their own food and drink expenses, a ticket price may not be necessary. It’s important, however, to communicate this clearly to your attendees well in advance, ensuring everyone understands they will cover their individual costs at the event. This approach can simplify financial planning and make the reunion accessible to more alumni.
Reunions are designed to work on a break-even basis. The Alumni Engagement Office can offer assistance on developing the budget and can advise you on any items you may have inadvertently overlooked.
