Alumni Association Board Sets Gold Standard

The Board Recently Reached 100% Board Giving

The UFV Alumni Association Board of Directors celebrated a milestone recently, as 100% of the board members in both the Canada and Chandigarh chapters now make monthly donations to the association’s Changing Lives bursary.

The fund that both boards contribute to will endow a bursary to a current student in need. With initiatives such as the Class Gift campaign and the upcoming UFV Alumni Open Golf Tournament contributing to the Changing Lives bursary, the association hopes to assist many students by giving them funds needed to finish their education.

The board celebrated this momentous occasion on May 25th, 2016.

By setting this gold standard, the board hopes to encourage others to donate in order to increase funding for the Alumni Association’s bursaries, awards to recognize our amazing alumni, and events to bring both current and past students together to create mentorship opportunities. Alumni Board Chair Nik Venema wants to challenge current alumni to help propel alumni giving to a whole new level at UFV so as to help even more students follow their educational dreams and become valuable members of their community.

The board was joined by Leslie Courchesne, Executive Director of University Relations, and David Leis and Sherri Magson of the Advancement team to commemorate this achievement.
