UFV email change for alumni – action required

Alumni accounts to be decommissioned September 30

Following the successful launch of Exchange Online for faculty and staff, the current student email platform, Zimbra, is  being decommissioned as UFV adopts Exchange Online across the institution. On a desktop computer or mobile, Exchange Online provides an enhanced email service, and provides many benefits including more accessible and modern email experience, better data protection and increased storage.

As part of this change, a difficult decision has been made to not migrate alumni accounts to Exchange Online, due to cost and license restrictions. All alumni accounts will be decommissioned later this year.

The current student email platform, Zimbra, will be phased out of use between April and September 2021. Starting April 30, Zimbra accounts will no longer receive email. You will have the opportunity to save or forward any important emails until September 2021.

Your Zimbra accounts will be completely decommissioned as of September 30, 2021.
