ABBOTSFORD – The UFV Alumni Association and the University of the Fraser Valley renewed their commitment to work together in fostering a stronger relationship between alumni and UFV.  Representatives from the UFV Alumni Association and UFV Board of Governors celebrated their pledge of collaboration at a formal signing ceremony held on October 18, 2021, at the Abbotsford campus

The new Memorandum of Understanding creates a framework for the working relationship between the UFV Alumni Association and UFV and sets out the roles and responsibilities of each party.

“The overarching goal of the MOU is to strengthen the strategic partnership between our organizations. UFV and the UFV Alumni Association are committed to building a mutually beneficial relationship with our alumni; and in supporting alumni as lifelong learners,” said Derrick Uittenbosch, UFV Alumni Association Chair.

The creation of the position of Director, Alumni Relations/Executive Director, UFV Alumni Association was a key addition to the MOU. Replacing the current Manager, Alumni Relations position, the Director will play a key role in strengthening the strategic partnership between the organizations. The dual reporting role will provide strategic leadership, and enhance communications, programs and services that support UFV’s and UFVAA’s reciprocal value-proposition.

The agreement will remain in place for a period of five years, and may be renewed or extended by the mutual agreement of the parties.
