Do you know UFV alumni doing incredible work at home and around the world? We want to hear about them!

Established in 2003, the UFV Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes the accomplishments of our amazing alumni. The traditional Distinguished Alumni Award celebrates a UFV graduate who has achieved outstanding distinction in career, educational achievement, or community service.

In 2012, the Young Distinguished Alumni Award was established. This award honours a graduate who is 35 years of age or younger and has achieved outstanding distinction in the above categories.

If you know of an alumnus or alumna worthy of this distinction we encourage you to nominate them. Recipients will be honoured and celebrated at the Town and Gown event in the fall.

“Every Distinguished Alumni Award nomination we receive is cause for celebration,” says Whitney Fordham, UFV’s Director, Alumni Relations. “Each nomination package represents an amazing graduate – someone who continues to pursue UFV’s vision to connect communities, work towards reconciliation, and generate prosperity. And each nomination also represents someone in our community who is experiencing the transformative work that our alumni carry out. It is incredible to realize the impact our alumni have in a wide range of industries, sectors, and spaces.”

The deadline for nomination for this year’s awards is August 30, 2022.

Winners of these awards will join the ranks of past recipients including 2021 recipients Jason Beck (Dip ’04) and Sheetal Deo (BA ’12). Read Jason and Sheetal’s stories to learn about how these extraordinary UFV alumni are transforming lives and building community.
